Photography/Pictures

When I was a midshipman at the Naval Academy, a mentor inspired and encouraged me to pursue my interest in photography. Then, I had the chance to take official US Navy photos as the collateral duty public affairs officer on my first ship. While working on this site, I found some of those photos and decided to return to them and others, and write about them. Some were posted to Facebook and recovered – while others were found in a file labeled “thumb drive.” I’ve attempted to categorize and place them in chronological order.

Also, please enjoy the quality of the pictures. Some of them were taken with a circa 2002 canon/nikon digital camera before upgrading to a canon rebel in 2006 and finally an iPhone.

Old photos I found from the Naval Academy

After graduation, I took 30 days to backpack Southeast Asia.

Photos from the USS Harpers Ferry

I worked as the collateral duty public affairs officer so I was able to capture a lot of navy and marine corps exercises.
